The Behavioral Awareness Center has worked with the judicial system in the Richmond metropolitan area for more than twenty years. Our goal is to provide a cost-effective and easily accessible treatment program that is tailored to meet the unique needs and requirements of the judicial system as well as the client's.

Studies have shown that clients maximize the benefits of treatment when there is a strong support system. In many cases the support system is comprised of various agencies. The Behavioral Awareness Center recognizes the need to coordinate its services with the court and adjunct agencies in order to provide the most comprehensive treatment.

Our program includes the following features:

Behavioral Awareness Court Representatives
Guaranteed attendance in court provides immediate accessibility to our services regarding anger management, custody, divorce, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Initial alcohol & drug assessments are available at court thereby expediting a client into treatment

48-Hour Assessment
Assessing clients quickly provides a more accurate recall of events, which is critical for a detailed assessment and appropriate treatment plan. This will also help in reducing delays and postponements of cases in the judicial system.

Drug and Alcohol Counseling
Provides immediate access to treatment. Programs available include: Early Intervention, Intensive Outpatient, Marathon and Relapse Prevention/Aftercare. Our Alcohol/Drug Screening Program provides documented test results to continually monitor a client's progress.

"Observed" Alcohol/Drug Testing
All alcohol/drug screens are observed to ensure that no cheating or other samples are used during testing. Test results are provided within an hour. All test results are documented in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

Psychological Testing and Results Provided in a Week
Provides quick, credible documentation regarding a client's psychological and emotional state of mind to assist with their case.

Immediate Staff Availability
Our staff will immediately notify court officers and/or appropriate adjunct agencies of violations or problems regarding court-mandated or treatment guidelines. Phone calls will be returned no later than the next business day.

Reports and Documentation
Brief comprehensive reports are provided by the tenth of each month to address each client's progress, compliance, and treatment issues for continuity of care.

Court-recognized "Expert" Witness
Our acknowledged "expert" will provided knowledgeable, respected, and credible testimony.

Customized Education and Treatment Programs
The flexibility of our programs can assure an overall treatment program that allows us to individualize treatment for clients who have special needs.
