Laurel is the founder of Behavioral Awareness Center, P.C. and has
been in private practice for more than 25 years. She is licensed
by the State of Virginia to diagnose and treat individuals who suffer
from emotional, psychiatric, and substance abuse issues. She is
also recognized by the judicial system as an "expert"
witness in her field.
Laurel is an approved Employee Assistance Provider. She works with
employees on a variety of issues that include family and marital
issues, substance abuse, depression, stress management, and employee/management
issues. She also offers drug screening programs for local employers.
Laurel has worked and trained at Johns Hopkins
University, Medical College of Virginia Hospital, University of
Virginia Hospital, and Rubicon Therapeutic Community Substance Abuse
Center. Laurel has taught classes at the Psychiatric Institute of
Richmond and at Charter Westbrook Hospital. She is also a certified
Hypnotherapist by the American Board of Hypnotherapy. |

Fred provides both administrative and clinical duties. He is in charge of bids, program changes, marketing, and Human Resource management. Fred obtained an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and works closely with both state and federal probation and parole in addition to social service agencies.
Fred is state-certified as a substance abuse counselor for Behavioral Awareness Center, P.C . He also provides services at our various satellite offices. |

Danika has extensive training and experience working in social services with adults, children and families who have been impacted by trauma, particularly physical and sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence and/or substance abuse. She is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to diagnose and treat individuals who suffer from emotional, psychiatric, and substance abuse issues. In addition to providing individual and family counseling, Danika provides mental health, parenting and substance abuse assessments. |

Arsheia has extensive training and experience working with a wide range of clients with mental health issues. She specializes in treating individuals with sexual dysfunctions to include adults and sexually abusive youth. She also has experience providing vocational training and mental health services to adult male inmates in correctional and forensic settings. Arsheia is Certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Counseling as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider. Arsheia is currently working to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. |
